Snorky is a member of The Banana Splits. In the 1969 show The Banana Splits Adventure Hour song segments, he was portrayed by James Dove, and in most other segments he was portrayed by Robert Towers. Unlike his friends, Snorky does not speak, resulting in his lack of voice actor.

About Snorky[]

He is an elephant who plays the keyboard. He only communicates with honking sounds. He is always late, seldom does anything right, and gets blamed for absolutely everything, even when he's innocent. Bingo is protective of the little guy, but he can never stop Snorky from accepting a dare, which Snorky will always do. In any event, Snorky remains dauntless in spite of his constant misfortunes.

Snorky appears with the other Splits in The Banana Splits Movie. Unlike the other Splits, however, he's not evil.

Appearance[]

Snorky, in the first season, is a shaggy haired elephant. The only things he wears is the club helmet and a pair of large pink sunglasses. He has big polka dot ears. For the second season, his shaggy hair is cut down to be clean cut. His eyes also become visible during the season. He also gains a yellow vest with green rectangles. In some shots, it is obvious that he has a little tail. His design is practically unchanged in the movie. Snorky plays keys in the band.

Trivia[]

  • During the mostly unreleased season two, Snorky received the most drastic redesign of the four Splits. Going from shaggy haired to clean cut, Snorky gains a vest and a set of visible eyes. Ironically, his design remains the most untouched in the film.
  • Snorky is the least malicious animatronic in the movie, only attempting to run over Mitch and presumably killing the security guard at Taft Studios. He did, however, kill Bingo.
  • Snorky's name is the only one shortened in the intro, being called "Snork".
  • In the DC crossover comic with Suicide Squad, it revealed that Snorky is a vegan, especially that elephants in general are herbivores (natural vegetarians).
